What Oya is
Oya shows what's happening near you tonight, lets you say you're coming, and then forgets. A plan is a real place at a real time. Two hours after it starts it's gone, and nothing about it is kept.
Oya is run by ADIGUN LLC. By using it you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Oya.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 17 years old to use Oya. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
Community rules
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Oya. That covers harassment, threats, hate, sexual content, any content involving minors, promoting violence or self-harm, spam, scams, impersonation, and anything illegal.
You can report any plan or person from inside the app, and you can block any person. Someone you block won't see your plans or you, and won't be told. We read every report within 24 hours. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and the account behind it is ejected.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, without notice and without refunding anything.
What you post
Your plan is yours. Its title, its time, its place, its ticket link if you add one, and the name of any place you add to the map are shown to whoever you choose: everyone nearby, your friends, or only the people you send a link to. By posting, you confirm that you have the right to post it and that it follows the rules above.
You give us permission to show what you post to the people you chose, for as long as the plan exists. A plan is deleted an hour after it ends. If someone reports it, we keep a copy of what they reported for review, as the Privacy Policy explains.
A plan's link works like a key. Anyone you send it to can see the plan, join it, and pass the link on. Send it to people you trust.
Showing up
When you check in, Oya takes one location fix, compares it to the place on our server, and keeps only whether you were there. We count the times you've shown up. That count is for you alone, and it isn't a record of where you've been.
Meeting in person
Oya introduces people who happen to be near each other. We don't vet anyone. Use your judgement: meet in public, tell someone where you're going, and leave if anything feels wrong. Oya isn't responsible for what happens between people who meet through it.
Hosts
Anyone with an account can feature their own public plans at oya.adigunllc.com/host. A featured plan's pin is gold and shows from further out. Posting a plan stays free, and nobody who comes to a plan pays Oya anything.
Featuring costs the host a set amount for each guest who checks in at the place, as Oya confirms it, and nothing for anyone who only says they're coming. The price is shown on the host page before you feature anything. It's taken from credit you add in advance by card through Stripe. When the credit runs out, featuring stops on its own. New hosts get free credit to start.
Instead of paying per check-in, a host can pay a set monthly price, shown on the host page, also through Stripe. While it runs, check-ins cost nothing and any of your public plans can be featured. You can end it on the host page at any time; it stops at the end of the month already paid, and nothing is refunded for the rest of that month. Credit you added before stays yours.
Credit is for featuring on Oya only. It can't be cashed out or moved to another account. If you'd like back credit you added and haven't used, write to help@adigunllc.com within 30 days of adding it.
Featuring doesn't change who can see the place: as for any plan, the exact place is shown only to people who join.
Guests and accounts
You can use everything in Oya as a guest, with no account. A guest lives on one phone. If you lose the phone or delete the app, the guest goes with it and can't be recovered.
An account is optional, and it does one thing: it lets your friends, your blocks and your count follow you to another phone. You can make one with Apple, with a phone number, or with an email address and a password. We don't verify an email address you give us, and we don't send you email. There's no password reset. If you lose your password, make a new account.
Ending your account
You can delete your account, or your guest, from inside the app at any time. It happens immediately on our servers and can't be undone. Before you confirm, the app shows you exactly what goes and what stays.
The service as it is
Oya is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We may change or withdraw features, or stop the service, at any time. To the extent the law allows, ADIGUN LLC isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of Oya, or from anything that happens between people who met through it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
We may update these terms. The date at the top is the date of the current version. If you keep using Oya after a change, you accept it. Questions go to help@adigunllc.com.
